The Human Rights Alliance, in collaboration with several nonprofit partners in Santa Fe, has developed a mayoral candidate questionnaire. This resource includes a range of critical questions addressing issues that deeply affect the city’s most marginalized communities.
We strongly encourage all eligible voters to review these responses carefully before casting their ballots in November’s mayoral election. View Here.
In addition, an online Mayoral Forum will be held on Monday, September 29, at 7:00 p.m., where candidates will address several of these issues in real time.
As you engage with these resources, please keep in mind the following:
- Non-responses are meaningful. If a candidate did not complete the questionnaire, that silence speaks to their willingness—or unwillingness—to address difficult but essential issues.
- Focus on what matters most to you. For instance, if a candidate fails to respond to questions regarding LGBTQ+ issues, this omission reflects their level of engagement with and commitment to that community.
- Make your voice count. If you live in the City of Santa Fe and are not yet registered to vote, you can do so here: [Insert link]. Active participation is vital to sustaining our democracy.
