Happy Wednesday,
This Saturday marks a meaningful milestone for the Human Rights Alliance as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the PRIDE Center. We hope you’ll join us for an Open House on Saturday, May 2, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Stop by for an afternoon of community, connection, food, music, and celebration.
We’re excited to have As Above So Below on site with a cash bar featuring specialty cocktails, and DJ Oona bringing great energy and music throughout the afternoon. Our Board, staff, and volunteers will be there to welcome you and celebrate everything we’ve built together over the past year.
Looking ahead, PRIDE Month is just around the corner. Be sure to visit the PRIDE section of our website to explore the full lineup of events we have planned for June—there’s something for everyone, and we look forward to celebrating with you all month long.
We also want to take a moment to highlight the upcoming primary elections here in New Mexico. Civic engagement is a critical part of building and sustaining strong, inclusive communities. Participating in these elections helps ensure that leadership across our state reflects and supports the diverse communities we serve—including LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, communities of color, and our Indigenous and Asian communities.
You may be asking:
- Who should I vote for?
- What does an endorsement really mean?
- How do organizations determine endorsements?
- How important are they in making an informed decision?
We’ll be sharing a simple, accessible voter guide from HRA soon to help answer these questions and support you in navigating the election with confidence.
In the meantime, we hope to see you this Saturday as we celebrate one year of the PRIDE Center and the vibrant community that continues to make this work possible.
