Happy Wednesday, everyone,
As you may know, the New Mexico State Legislative Session is currently underway, and the Human Rights Alliance is actively tracking several important bills as they move through committee. These measures reflect issues that deeply impact our community, and we encourage you to stay informed and engaged.
Some of the bills we are watching include:
  • NMCHISPA – Community & Health Information Safety Act (SB 53)
  • Healthcare Information Privacy Protections (HB 279)
  • Clean Horizons and Emissions Codification (SJR 18)
  • CYFD Support and Services for LGBTQ+ Families (HB 189)
  • Homelessness Services for LGBTQ+ Communities (HB 190)
  • Public Education Department Services for LGBTQ+ Students (HB 191)
If you follow the legislature—or would like to learn more—you can look up any of these bills by number using the New Mexico Legislature’s website here:

We’re also thrilled to share some joyful news: the PRIDE 2026 page is now live on our website! While PRIDE celebrations across the country are facing cancellations, here in the City and County Different, we are not going anywhere. PRIDE is an essential and enduring part of our arts, culture, and shared history—and we are moving forward with pride and purpose.
We invite you to take a look, get involved, and help make PRIDE 2026 unforgettable. Become a sponsor, reserve a booth, march in the parade, and show up boldly for our community.
This year’s theme says it all:
Many Colors. One PRIDE.
