Happy Friday,

We would all like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all who donated to help with our flood cleanup.

I am happy to report that things are cleaned up, functioning, and despite about $2,500.00 worth of loss and the clean up and water mitigation fees, we will be back up and running by Monday.

Unfortunately, the story does not end here. Following the flood,  the city relocated some dirt to create a wall along the Studios at Parkway development, and the developers installed a French drain system along the back of our affected Building. What remains to be seen is if these efforts will be enough during future rain events. Nevertheless, HRA will redo our due diligence legally to try to retrieve the losses incurred during this event.

Since the passing of the Big ##### Bill last Friday, the fallout across the country is only beginning to be realized. Please know that HRA is doing everything in our power to create a supportive environment and inform the constituency about the many changes happening.

Unfortunately, the administration will be ending 988 services for LGBTQ+ youth, which will be discontinued beginning July 17. The graphic below has some alternative options.

There will also be some changes re passports:

On June 17, 2025, a federal judge granted a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit challenging the administration’s policy preventing transgender and nonbinary people from receiving passports that match their gender identity.

The State Department is now complying. Transgender, intersex, and nonbinary people who need to obtain a new passport, change the name or sex listed on their existing passport, replace a lost, stolen, or damaged passport, or renew a passport that will expire within a year, can now do so. Please spread the word so everyone is aware. ACLU created an FAQ page that provides updated advice, and here is the new guidance published by the U.S. Department of State.

That’s all for now.
