We are less than two weeks away from what may be the most significant local elections in a generation.
The Human Rights Alliance, in collaboration with Earth Care and the DSA of Santa Fe, sent a mayoral candidate questionnaire to better understand their positions on issues affecting our communities. You can view the responses here: Santa Fe Mayoral Candidate Voter Guide.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, HRA cannot endorse or oppose any candidate. But we are committed to providing information that helps our community make informed decisions.
Our review of the responses revealed a disappointing lack of engagement with the real challenges and opportunities facing Santa Fe’s LGBTQ+ community. Many other groups — including Indigenous and disabled residents — were also overlooked.
We encourage you to:
- Read the responses carefully
- Ask questions
- Hold candidates accountable for building an equitable, inclusive, and just Santa Fe.
