Almost Adults Productions, Human Rights Alliance, and LiveArts are joining forces for Pride Month for Queer Alphabet: An LGBTQIA Short Play Reading Program. This diverse collection of short works will occur Sunday, June 16that 4 PM at the Unitarian Universalist of Santa Fe, 107 W. Barcelona Rd. These international and multigenerational comedies and dramas will celebrate inclusivity within a diverse community. Two of the plays are world premieres. The program will be accompanied by virtuoso local pianist Andre Garcia-Nuthmann. Program is as follows: Lovers and Survivors by Aaron Leventman (Santa Fe, NM) about two friends spanning 50 years who survive the AIDS crisis together; Wabi Sabi by Rachael Carnes (Portland, OR) which addresses teenage gender identity as two previous friends reconnect in high school; Bisexual Sadness by India Kotis (New York, New York) about the about the uncomfortable tensions between personal and social identity; Slow Dating by Adam Szudrich (Australia) about an elderly woman tries speed dating and it leads to a night with a charming stranger; Switching Sides by Terry McFadden (L.A., CA,) which is a sort of intergenerational coming out story about a father and son; A is for Ahhh….. by written and performed by Marguerite Louis Scott […]
